    Hello CFMA Community!

We as a company are considering Prophix and Briq. I wanted to get the opinion of other CFMA members as to your experience considering both products.

I know there have been separate conversations about Prophix and Briq posted on Connection Cafe. Is there anyone out there that has compared the two? Is there another platform we should be considering? Why did you go with the platform you chose?

We currently use Spectrum as our accounting Platform and are a full-service custom fabricator and industrial mechanical company.

Any opinions or recommendations are welcome!

Hi!  These are two different software options, meaning they do different things (according to the sales pitch).  At the time, Briq didn't have a strong enough financial reporting aspect for our needs.  From what I understand, Briq has made a lot of impact with bringing efficiencies to processes within the ERP whereas Prophix is a reporting tool.  A comparable tool for Prophix would be spreadsheet server.  Prophix is much more powerful than SS in my opinion.  We chose Prophix because we have 2 different ERPs to consolidate into one reporting function.  Be prepared to spend a lot of time learning it.  If you are not software savvy, it may be a struggle for a little while.  I feel more confident now than at the beginning.  Now I can't imagine not having it, it's so easy for me to pull up information, design a report and email it out.  It's been a blessing for our company.  My Prophix implementation team is amazing.  They have been flexible enough to change their plans to fit our needs and design what we need them to.  They are patient and kind and very thorough.  The actually care about giving us a value-added product.  I really liked Briq as well, but for the process side of things in the ERP.  Our biggest fire to put out was reporting though so we went with that one first.  I would love to entertain Briq again in the future.  Good Luck!

    HI Kristy,

My company is considering the same options - we have Spreadsheet Server now but don't use it effectively.  We are seriously considering Prophix as it plays fairly well with our ERP (CMiC). Can you tell me if there's anything we should know about Prophix that their sales pitch isn't telling us?  Anything we should ask or dig into more?  What are the drawbacks of Prophix?

    Thanks for the help!
