In a continuing effort to increase the traffic and usage of our chapter website, I look to post periodic blog updates to communicate what's going on within our chapter. Here it is September already and I'm halfway done with my tenure as president. A lot has happened since my first blog in April. The most obvious is the new website and additional functionality. I was so excited to get these operational this year, but to be honest I thought it would take longer. The CFMA staff at national did an outstanding job working with me to get it online so quickly. I hope you all enjoy the new format and functionality. Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions’ or comments regarding the website.
The executive committee had the opportunity to meet with several past presidents in order to keep them involved in the chapter. No shock to me that they all were extremely energetic about continuing their involvement. We discussed two main topics: education and the future of our chapter. Long story short on education, we decided to consider scheduling a four hour meeting each year to bring in a topic and cover it more in depth than our standard one hour meeting presentations. If you had been at the lunch with the past presidents you would notice that everyone in the room is getting long in the tooth. No disrespect, but I'm a baby-boomer as well. The point is our chapter is very mature and we need to make sure we are meeting the needs and desires of the millenniums’, X, Y, and future generations in order to keep our organization enjoyable and sustainable. It would be great to have some of you in those categories to contact one of the executive committee and let us know what topics and issues you look experience from our organization. In fact, we would really love to see a "young professionals" group develop from this. Any takers on championing?
To keep this short, we also have a couple committees that if you have any interest in getting involved, please let us know.

Best regards,
- Mike
