  • 1.  Payroll Software for Union Contractors

    Hi Everyone!

    We are a specialty Union contractor and we do payroll in-house and we're curious if anyone is having a good experience with a payroll software for Union Contractors.  Our experience is that the marketplace is limited and the available solutions do not quite solve our issues and we're forced to solve issues manually.  

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Foundation Software has a very robust payroll program that handles union payroll very well.

    We are switching to Miter.  From everything we have seen, and everyone we have spoken with that uses it, it's an excellent construction-focused payroll system.  Their focus is union/certified payroll/Davis Bacon scenarios.

    I have used Foundation Software and it did really well with several unions.  My colleague uses Plexxis Mosaic and appears to work as well

    I am the Account/Office Manager for an Electrical Contractor, and we use Foundation Software.  It is very easy to navigate and great for union pay and deductions.  Please let me know if you have any questions about it.  I may be able to assist.

    We are also a specialty union contractor who used to do payroll in house. We spent about a year looking at software and ultimately landed on Miter. Payroll take about a third of the time it used to take and it a lot more accurate (minimal missed time). Superintendents like the timecards, PMs like the job visibility, Payroll staff like the CPR reports, and I like not having to fuss with quarterly payroll taxes.
