Hello all,
Our company has several wireless construction crews based in Alabama, and we have been considering applying for a contracting license from the Alabama General Contractors Board to be able to perform structural steel work on wireless towers throughout the state.
However, in the course of preparing our application for AGCB review, we've come to understand that we all applicants are required to take the Business and Project Management for Contractors Examination and Skill Test Examination (administered by PSI).
I've contacted AGCB to try to learn more about the exam, but we have been unable to find a means of either obtaining a sample test or overview of testing material to better understand its contents. So I have two primary questions:
1. Are any members of this forum aware of an exemption in AL from General Contracting testing for wireless contractors seeking a SC: Communication Tower (AGCB Classification of Work) license?
2. If the answer to Question 1 is No, have any other contractors on this forum taken a state licensing exam administered by PSI? If so, what is your recommendation for best preparing for the test?
Thank you,
