    We are a large GC, and we are looking to revamp the way we track our equipment.  What are the best solutions out there, and is there some cross-compatibility with other accounting systems?

    Have you looked into StreetSmarts by Maxwell Systems?  It is an accounting solution for heavy highway contractors and large general contractors that operate heavy machinery.  It has an excellent equipment tracking feature and the newest release of the software has a more user friendly look and feel that the customers love, not to mention, it can be accessed by the users on the web when not in the office.
