    Hello DeAnn,

I think that is a tough question to answer. In my opinion, it would depend on if you were a paper GC versus one that self-performed work. Also, I think it would depend on how many jobs you perform in a year and the type of jobs they are. In addition, I think you would have to define how the company is structured accounting wise and if the Project Coordinators/Engineers process and enter all the sub billings and project billings versus the accounting department.

That being said, our Revenue runs on average $75MM, we have two accounting employees (payroll and accounts payable). The same staff size has handled revenues up to 85MM. We have five project coordinators who besides other duties,  also create and process the monthly project billings. Sub billings are all entered by accounts payable after PM approval.

However, we self-perform drywall and have a crew and staff to handle that division of approximately 70 employees. We complete per year on average over 300 jobs across all of our divisions. However, one of our divisions operates as a small projects division and can handle individual jobs from $300 to $200,000. Still, a lot of paperwork and processing. So in our case $37.5MM per accounting employee, not too far off from what you computed. Note though,  that I did not include myself.

    Hope this helps.
