  • 1.  Trimble Pay Integration with Viewpoint Spectrum or Vista

    Good morning!  We recently went live with Viewpoint Spectrum.  We have participated in a demo for Trimble Pay to manage subcontractor billings and compliance and it looks great on screen.  Looking for anyone who is currently using Trimble Pay with Spectrum (recently integrated) or Vista (evidently integrated longer) to get some real life feedback on how it's going?  Happy or Unhappy?

    We have used Viewpoint Spectrum for a few years now. We just implemented Trimble Pay and we are starting to use it, and import a few jobs to see how it is going to align. I will keep you posted if you like.

    That is awesome news! This will be the first month we'll go through the full billing process without the integration bugs we've been experiencing but if all goes smoothly it'll be a big deal for us so I'm excited to hear how it's going for others on Spectrum. Please share & good luck!

    So far so good for us!  We aren't paying through TP via ACH so a bit more legwork for us but everything else is fabulous.  I approved a pay application from my phone this morning and the PM did the same once it got to him.

    I work with Spectrum/Vista GCs on this same set of issues, and the two things I hear most are:

    • Waivers/COIs don't always line up cleanly with payments, so there's still manual cleanup.

    • Payments are slow or take extra steps when they should be straightforward.

    PayeWaive is meant to solve exactly this: automated waiver + compliance tracking, plus same-day or next-day subcontractor payments tied directly into Spectrum/Vista. The idea is to cut out the babysitting and let PMs/finance teams just approve and move on.

    For those of you using Spectrum - is your bigger pain point the integration setup itself or the ongoing monthly cycle (approvals, payments, waivers)?

    The integration wasn't actually ready when we went live so there was a lot of manually pushing data behind the scenes for Trimble to get our data from TP to Spectrum. That being said the integration works great today - it's really a huge positive for us and we're glad we stuck with it. 

    We use entities in Spectrum so we were the first user with that set up. The team was primarily familiar with Vista so we got our ERP consultant involved so that he could assist with communication between us and TP to ensure we were all speaking the same language (a lot of times leading up to this we were not because they were not familiar with Spectrum specifically). I recommend using your own ERP consultant as you go through this. The trainings online are pretty good,  you have time to ask questions, but we found there was a layer missing to fill the gaps we were experiencing with their team. All that to be said they've come a long way and it might be a great experience for a new implementation going forward!
