    Good morning, everyone!

I work for Tracy Electric out of Wichita, KS and we are involved in multi-state electrical contracting employing around 70 employees. We are very close to transitioning out of our legacy accounting system and have our eyes on a new construction software called Viewpoint Spectrum.

I wanted to put my feelers out in this group to see if there are any other Specialty Contractors using this system. I would enjoy learning how your experience with this software is going, how the implementation went, pros/cons or any other thoughts on the software.

    Thank you and happy, Tuesday!

    Hi Trevor,

I am the controller at an Electrical Contractor in College Station, Texas. My company has used Spectrum since it's creation, before being purchased by Viewpoint and Trimble. I was in auditing before working here so I have some experience with other ERP systems as well. Feel free to reach out via email or phone if you would like to discuss further.

Good luck with your ERP transition, whichever selection you make!

Hi Trevor, we've also been using Spectrum pre-Viewpoint/Trimble ownership. We are a multi-state curtainwall glazing contractor with about 100 employees and are very happy with it. Call me anytime; be happy to answer any questions. John

    Hi Trevor,

I have been working with Spectrum since 2015 as the controller for Axion Specialty Contracting, we are a union contractor in Boston.  We process our own payroll for around 400 employees during our busy times, I find this to be one of the easiest of the ERP software I have used while in the construction field.  As Amber mention we also have been on this system before they were purchased by Trimble and Viewpoint.  I have heard there transition process is quite easy.

Feel free to reach out and good luck

    Hi Trevor,

I implemented spectrum a few years back when i worked for a fire suppression company that was very service heavy. Implementation went really well and we were able to easily tailor it to fit our needs.

I now work for a multistate stone company (very different needs), where Spectrum was implemented by my predecessor in 2015/2016 when it was still owned by Dexter and Chaney. It was set up quite differently, and from my understanding, due to it's legacy cloud hosting, there were modules I had believed to be "standard" that we did not have access to. This created pain points in some areas (requiring work arounds). So, I upgraded it to the new hosting platform and I am currently in the process of setting up these additional modules which will eliminate those pain points.

I have experience working in NetSuite, JD Edwards, and ComputerEase (as well as implementing ComputerEase)... I can honestly say Spectrum is my favorite ERP, and it isn't close. My advice to you with any implementation is to make sure your team is on board and really listen to their needs. The more they can keep their eye on the "prize" by understanding how it will benefit them, the smoother things will go and the happier everyone will be when you go live.

I am happy to answer any questions you have on this and get into specifics.
