Is there anyone who uses Viewpoint Vista and Procore Financials? Our Director of Operations has recently implemented Procore Financials and on the accounting side we're not seeing where there is much benefit to it. I know that it provides a dashboard that the Director of Ops likes to see, but does it provide any more value vs what can be found in Vista? We have had some problems with team members not pushing change orders down into Vista in a timely manner and there has been a lot of grumbling from the project coordinators about double entry. I'm just trying to figure out if the cost is worth the benefit.

That disconnect between Procore and Vista is super common. We see a lot of GCs run into issues with CORs not getting pushed down to accounting, and teams stuck doing double entry.

Clearstory helps bridge that gap. It gives PMs, coordinators, and accounting one shared COR Log that makes it easy to track, review, and sync Change Orders - without chasing updates or re-entering data. A lot of teams use it alongside Procore to clean up their workflow and keep everyone aligned.

Happy to share how others are making it work if that's helpful!

Thanks Jill, but I'm not looking to add even more software or expense. I'm just trying to figure out if we're actually getting any real benefits from using Procore Financials that make it worth the money we're paying.

I'd say there's more value in the pairing of Procore and Vista because with JTD Costs coming in from your ERP (and into Procore), you can actually get a solid FTC, EAC and Projected Over/Under, thanks to having PENDING cost data inside of Procore. (This assumes of course you're generating all your Subcontracts and POs in Procore). Otherwise, the ERP only captures actuals and doesn't pickup on the projected/likely/pending cost changes, whether it be from an unexecuted PCO/CCO, or even some Change Event that hasn't yet made it's way into a pending CO.

To catch the bottle-necks on COs not getting into Vista, consider creating a custom exceptions report in Procore that highlights these "stuck" COs.
