I process payroll taxes for 4 companies that file on an accelerated basis In Maryland. With the change to the new Maryland website I was wondering if anyone has filed on an accelerated basis in Maryland and how they filled out the information. On the initial page there is form type which would be accelerated withholding; return type which is original; filing method which is Data Entry; and then Period End Date. I read the Period End Date to be the last day of the payroll. However, there isn't a section to put the payroll paid date and since taxes are due within 3 business days of the paid date how is this determined. Should we be putting the Paid Date as the "Period End date".
I am just curious how this was interpreted by everyone. I don't want to get late fees but I also want to make sure this is being filled out correctly.
