Hi, We are doing annual wage increases and every year I have a hard time determining what is a market rate for payroll staff... I've been using Robert Half's annual salary guide for A/P, A/R, payroll, and accounting roles, however we are a multi-state, multi-union, prevailing wage contractor with extremely complex payroll. Peak season employees of about 250. Weekly certified payroll reporting with many on Minnesota's cumbersome electronic system where we need to walk our subcontracts through the process. We are about $90 million in revenue and have two people (both about 10 year employees who have been with the company as it nearly tripled in growth) handling all of the weekly payroll and certified payrolls, plus helping with HR/benefits. The market wages on Robert Half for a payroll manager don't seem enough, especially as compared to other's wages in the company (equipment dispatcher makes more than payroll).
Does anyone have any input or a resource for construction-specific market wages?
