    Hello CFMA!

    I'm currently evaluating fixed asset management software solutions and would appreciate your insights and recommendations.

    Our goal is to find a system that offers efficient tracking, depreciation management, and compliance features.  If you have experience with fixed asset software we would greatly value your input. What platform is being used and what are the pros and cons?

    Hi Leticia,

    I have used Asset Tiger with success in the past at a $60MM Mechanical contractor. 

    What I liked:

    • Cloud-based + easy onboarding – Field and office teams pick it up quickly.

    • Custom tagging – Great for segmenting by asset type, location, or lease status.

    • QR/barcode support – Helps during audits or jobsite transfers.

    • Built-in depreciation – Handles multiple methods and exports to Excel or GL.

    • Pricing – it's free up to a certain asset count, and even the paid tiers are budget-friendly-especially compared to ERP add-ons like Foundation or Viewpoint modules.  Bonus: if you buy enough of their asset tags the software remains free.

    Heads-up on limitations:

    • No direct ERP integration-exports/imports needed.

    • Static location tagging (no GPS).

    It was a really smart tool for us, and it could be a good fit if you're looking for fast deployment and a clean audit trail without breaking the bank. The features set is really impressive. Too much to detail here, but very much worth a look.

    We use a "affordable" no frills software called Asset Keeper.  Many ERP systems have their own equipment module, even the basic ones to calculate deprecation as well.

    We use DepreciationWorks. Very simple to use and very affordable. i believe it's under $400 and the annual maintenance is $130.
