We're in the early stages of planning our ERP implementation, having recently signed a contract to migrate from Microsoft GP to NetSuite. Our target go-live is Q4 2025, and I'm seeking insights on best practices for determining an optimal cutover date.
Do most companies transition at quarter-end, year-end, or mid-month? My initial preference is to go live on January 1, 2026, to avoid additional complexities with our FY25 audit. However, I'm also aware that a year-end transition could be disruptive given the timing of holidays, year-end inventory counts, and other close procedures.
Would appreciate any insights or recommendations based on best practices and lessons learned.
