Software implementation, capitalize or expense?

  • 1.  Software implementation, capitalize or expense?

    We have purchased Viewpoint Vista and are starting the implementation process.  I know tax depreciation rules are quite favorable for software, equipment, etc.  For book purposes, should the implementation of the software be capitalized or expensed?
