We are struggling with adopting and maintaining a consistent policy regarding drive time to and from the jobsite. We now have 2 office locations within 90 miles of each other and employees residing within a large radius around these locations. Specifically, how far away does an employee have to drive before they are compensated for that time, how they are compensated, and mileage reimbursement if using a personal vehicle. We have been paying for drive time for more than so many miles away, but in some cases the drive time is creating overtime and is becoming quite expensive.
I was just wondering if anyone might be willing to share their policy.
