This year CFMA is expanding its annual "Maryland Legislative Update" seminar to include a review of executive orders at the state and local level that impact Maryland businesses. In addition, while the usual 90-day legislative session ended after only 71 days, a number of important pieces of legislation were passed that will impact the construction industry including an expansion of mandatory lay-off notice requirements to cover employers with less than 100 employees, new requirements for employers related to maintaining safe working conditions, an expansion of Maryland's anti-discrimination law, and new limitations on consideration of wage history during the hiring process.

    Learning objectives:

    • Current executive orders at the state and local level impacting Maryland businesses

    • New requirements for employers related to maintaining safe working conditions

    • New limitations on consideration of wage history during the hiring process
