Position: Assistant Controller with a fast track to the Controller position.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Experienced Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) user is a must
- 5-10 years of experience in a commercial construction accounting environment.
- Knowledge of latest GAAP requirements for financial reporting
- Strong Leadership, effective problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of management.
- Strong computer skills in a Windows environment including advanced experience using MS Office suite, particularly Excel
- Experienced in the preparation of financial reports, statements and projections.
- Strong work ethic and effective organizational and management skills.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Controller in managing the day to day accounting operations
- Assist Controller with the preparation of monthly financial statements and review of budgets.
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy.
- Will have significant responsibility for Sage 300 accounting system
- Monitor all banking activities;
- Manage sales tax compliance
- Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies
- Working closely with operations to provide accounting support as needed
This person will also be able to climb multiple flights of stairs and lift approx. 30lbs.
