Hello Fellow CFMA Members:
As a Civil Marine Contractor performing work nationally, most of our 'heavy hauling' is performed by third parties, but for smaller projects, or smaller equipment, we have a fleet of 'heavy trucks' that have GVWR's requiring DOT Compliance. Our personnel is craft workers, union Carpenters to be exact, and we have had difficulty getting them to conform to the various requirement, including getting a CDL, because they aren't specifically paid for taking on those added responsibilities.
Has anyone else in the community had this challenge? And if so, would you be willing to share your success stories on how it was addressed?
