    Summary:          
    The Corporate Financial Controller is responsible and accountable for monthly financial statements, reporting and analysis while maintaining and developing effective internal controls.  The Controller works closely with the CFO to support the company's strategic direction for driving improved profitability through accurate and relevant reporting and analysis to senior executives and to other key managers.  This position will also provide oversight to the day-to-day operations of the accounting team and perform reviews and development plans for the financial staff, which includes general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and service billing.

    What You Will Be Doing:
    Responsibilities:

    • Manage key coordination with Assistant Controller for the preparation of monthly financial reports, operating group metrics, and special analyses in accordance with GAAP principles
    • Responsible for overseeing accounting procedures and internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing)
    • Supervise, direct, and develop the accounting team including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and service billing
    • Lead implementation of systems, tools, and processes to drive operational efficiencies
    • Contribute to annual financial plans/budgets, and related variance analysis
    • Analyze job cost reports, billing and cost rates and related activities
    • Active involvement with banking, treasury activities and credit and collections efforts
    • Coordinate with external audit firm for annual financial audit and annual 401k benefit plan audit
    • Perform development plans for staff; implemented and evaluated periodically
    • Oversight of property and sales tax reporting for company
    • Perform special projects as identified with a focus to improve timely, relevant reporting which supports margin improvements, cost reductions, and improved controls
    • Support annual income tax return preparation activities


    What You Need To Be Part Of Our All-Star Team:
    Required skills:

    • Direct experience working with financial institutions, insurance programs (casualty and healthcare), and surety/bond programs
    • Financial Analysis
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting theory, current accounting issues, and accounting systems
    • Strong knowledge of business systems and business intelligence tools
    • Above average skills using Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
    • High attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with internal customers

    Education/Experience:

    • BS in Accounting, CPA and/or MBA preferred
    • 10+ years experience with 5+ in finance or accounting with a construction or manufacturing company
    • Proven supervisory experience showing the ability to mentor and develop staff
    • Experience with Viewpoint Vista software a plus
    • Experience with PowerBI a plus
