If your client has Office Connector, you can integrate an Excel spreadsheet with Sage 300 CRE Job Cost to accomplish the allocation. You can use Office Connector to populate the spreadsheet with open jobs, costs for the month and the balances of the overhead accounts. Office Connector Import can be used to automate the import of the allocation as direct cost entries.
An alternative would be to use a custom Crystal Report to perform the allocation, which can be exported as a comma-delimited file and easily imported as direct cost entries.

I have a highway contractor client that is having the following problem using Sage 300 CRE for OH allocation. They are using HeavyBid as their estimating software.
"We are using SAGE 300 CRE version 13.1 and would like to automate our monthly overhead allocation. We are looking for a solution that will be part of our month end close process that allocates certain overhead accounts to job cost. As an example, if we were allocating $100k from overhead to job cost we would spread the $100k to jobs on a percentage basis of total job cost for the month. Does anyone know of a way to do this in the SAGE software?"
Can anyone provide any feedback to solve this issue?
