Collection agencies are like any other business. There are good ones and bad ones. Some specialize in the construction industry and some don't know anything about it. Although I am an attorney and like to promote utilization of attorneys, there are some things that collection agencies can do more economically. For example, routine "Notices of Furnishing" can be performed by an an agency much more economically than by an attorney. In my experience, the agency that I previously mentioned, NCS, is very knowledgeable and capable in these types of matters. I have seen others that do a hack job.
