Q1. Why did you decide to get involved with starting the Siouxland Chapter of CFMA?
Initially I got involved with CFMA as a way to get CPE. I had just come out of public accounting and there really was no better way to get industry specific CPE than through CFMA. Since there was not a local chapter at that time, for the first 6 years, I was just an at-large member and attended all the National Conferences to get my CPE.

Q2. How has being a part of a local chapter brought value to your company?
It's brought value to our company by networking with other financial executives in construction in the local market. Being able to talk with contractors about common issues can be very helpful. It's a great way to get to know not only other construction financial executives but also to get networked with other folks who can provide services to our firm that can help us grow. It's been a lot of fun to see the chapter grow over the years.

Q3. What is the biggest change you have seen in CFMA (local or national) since you joined?
On a national level, it's been great to see some new young leaders step forward. When I first joined CFMA, it was the same people that were in leadership positions in CFMA at the national level for many years.

Q4. What do you hope to see from the Siouxland chapter in the coming years?
I hope to see the Siouxland Chapter continue to grow. It will be fun to see new young leaders emerge and take the opportunity provided to them to make the chapter even better than it is today. I would like to see representation in the chapter from all the CM/GC firms in the Siouxland region.
