Q1. Why did you decide to get involved with starting
the Siouxland Chapter of CFMA?
|
|
I had peers involved with a CFMA chapter in Des Moines,
and they all exclaimed the benefit to their networking and industry knowledge
via participation. Several of us in the Sioux Falls area, all of whom
committed to the construction industry, and to being the best each one of us
could be in our respective positions, had unanimous motivation to create a
chapter of our own.

Q2. How has being a part of a local chapter brought
value to your company?
|
|
I am an "affiliate" member, in that I serve the
construction industry. Service to CFMA, involvement in CFMA, participation in
CFMA, and attendance at CFMA events - they all serve to demonstrate to my
peers, clients, and potential clients of my knowledge of and commitment to their
industry and its issues.

Q3. What is the biggest change you have seen in CFMA
(local or national) since you joined?
|
|
Everyone is getting younger! Many of our founding members
have become president of our respective firms and/or taken out of state
promotions. In our place have come many very qualified and capable
individuals serving on our leadership and within our membership ranks. It
would be fun for CFMA Siouxland to print a "where are they now" of
our founding 10 board members.

|
Q4. What do you hope to see from the Siouxland chapter
in the coming years?
|
|
I really appreciate the idea and effort to do a survey. I
feel like you will get many good ideas, reassurances, and suggestions. As a
voluntary professional organization, it will remain a challenge always to
remain "relevant" going forward. We must continue to "provide
value" to our members. providing value may take different forms and
change as time goes along…
