I am looking for a software to improve reporting from Sage 100 Contractor that would be Excel based and have the opportunity to be adjustable, provide visuals etc. Anyone have any software platforms that integrate with Sage 100 that they recommend?

    Thanks!

Liberty Reports is what we've been looking at.  I will have the need for job performance by Division soon (Division costs codes on revenue and expense), and Sage doesn't seem to be able to manage it.  I'm having trouble finding out what Liberty reports can't do or that it does poorly.

    Jessica,

Is your Sage 100 Contractor on-premise and running on SQL Server? If so, you could try using Power Query in Excel. I use it for some custom reporting. For example, last week I used power query to pull 401k deduction & match data from Sage 300 CRE and then a VBA Macro to export out a CSV file. It took me 3 hours to set it up and is an easy to use report in a platform that most people feel comfortable. Keep in mind that most reporting programs will have limited benefit unless you have knowledge of the database structure and how to join tables.

Hopefully, some Sage 100 Contractor users have other recommendations on what has worked well for them.

    Best,

    Jessica,

I would also recommend Liberty Reports. We have been using Liberty since 2014 and have written a ton of reports. I pretty much use it on daily basis. It is fairly easy to learn the tool, it is excel based and you can pretty much write any report you want. Feel free to give me a call and I can answer more questions.

We have helped clients achieve this kind of reporting many times!  One approach we've taken was to connect Excel directly to the Sage data.  We have also used a tool called "Microsoft Power BI" which has some very powerful data visualization capabilities.

If you'd like any help getting either of those setup, feel free to give us a call!
