Does anyone have experience with XERO?  I understand it comparable to Quickbooks and easier to use.  It appears to have project costing tracking  ability.
Any info you hae would be a big help.

    Hi Alan,

I am using Xero for accounting at a residential remodeling company. The "projects" feature of Xero seems better suited to consulting or software development, and I haven't been able to use it for construction projects. It seems like it would take a lot of manual entry of data.

By using a detailed chart of accounts, 2 tracking categories, and easy-to-customize reports, we've been able to keep pretty detailed job cost reports and other records.

It also integrates with Receipt Bank, BuilderTrend, and other software we use to save time on day-to-day accounting.

    I hope that helps!

We use Xero as our accounting software.  Don't have any need for project costing ability, but it has a pretty robust API and I imagine you could build most anything you need off of it.  We've done a lot of customer software with Xero being an integral part of it.

Corecon integrates with Xero, however I prefer QuickBooks Online to Xero if they want an online accounting system.

Corecon is far superior to the Xero projects feature and is a full Project Management, Estimating and Time Tracking system for Construction.

Feel free to reach out if you have questions on Corecon. I have been using it with clients since 2012.
