Autocad Feedback

We are a modest sized GC, I would appreciate feedback on PM and Site administrator use of Autocad for overlaying files from subs and as I understand it, could be used for waterproofing drawings, site layout, finish details, verifying plan information, creating RFI sketches for clarification and communication.  We use Blue Beam, but the group pushing for Autocad believes Autocad  would be much quicker and more accurate.

How steep is the learning curve to become functional in the areas described above?  Can anyone recommend an online or off site program to accelerate the learning curve?  PM's do their own estimating between assigned projects as the company does not have an estimating department.

Thank you for any assistance offered.

You can use as a low cost training method to get someone started, you can also get a 30 day trial of Autocad.  For more complicated markups, Autocad is great.  If you are going to use Autocad, I'd try to get the cad files of the sheets that you are making markups on. If you can't get the cad files, you can use the PDFImport command. For simple markups, I'd still use bluebeam.
