I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with complying with the sick leave requirement in NY city and on federal projects. We are a general contractor with both private and federal projects. We currently have a project in New York City and several federal projects. Although we do not self perform much, we do have a handful of union employees. Union employees are exempt from our PTO policy. I'm looking for a definitive answer on whether the union fringe that we pay into the vacation fund, makes us exempt for accruing sick leave for our union employees. I've attached documentation on the NYC and federal sick leave policies for your reference. I would love to know if you have any experience with this situation or if you can provide any guidance.
