Currently our field personnel utilizes only a mobile phone for communicating with the office and partners. They utilize email and also submit their time using iPhones. In the past we outfitted the field with laptops but more often than not they would sit at their homes. The nature of our jobs requires our field people to to move around often with ever changing dynamics so even a laptop was cumbersome. The printers were treated as disposable as they didn't handle the dirt or lack of use well. We are contemplating purchasing tablets and small printers for them. I'm interested in any of your experiences with technology (hardware & software) for your field personnel.
