    Trying to get a consensus.

     

    Are you charging paving equipment wear parts to the maintenance cost of the equipment or charging directly to jobs?

     

    Examples are paver screeds, shuttlebuggy C1, C2, C3 rebuilds.

    I agree.  Charge them to the piece and the cost of repairs should be covered in the equipment charge out rate.

    When I was the controller of a road builder, we charged wear parts to the equipment.

    In my opinion, charging the cost to the equipment is more conducive to accurate equipment costing which allows for better decision making regarding when to replace equipment.
