We are an electrical contractor and work in many states across the country. Managing our manpower resources to align with project needs is a key component of our business. We currently use a number of systems to assign manpower to projects for a period of time (can range from a day or two to many months). In order to make these decisions effectively, we need to pull information pertaining to the employees skills, licenses, past project experience, internal safety classification level, etc. from various databases and tracking tools to be able to match that information with the project location and needs and the employee's expected availability based on his/her current project assignment. We also pull data on potential projects not yet in our accounting system to be able to visually understand our need for additional work or hiring of employees in various windows of time.
I am looking to understand what solutions others are using to manage this effectively. Ultimately, do you have any recommendations for web based software that has worked effectively for you in managing manpower?
