    Due to their Controller retiring, our client is looking for her replacement; position would start immediately.

    GENERAL SCOPE:   This financial controller position, in addition to financial reporting, is responsible for completing daily activities associated with P/R, A/R, J/C, and G/L for a General Contractor in Auburn, WA along with multiple related parties limited liability companies.  Duties also include administration of 401k retirement program, employee medical benefits, submission of payroll and state taxes, along with updating accounting software. 


    • Maintain full responsibility for; general ledger, standardized job cost accounting functions and systems that ensure the generation of accurate financial data, WIP scheduling, financial statements, monthly progress billings, monthly bank reconciliations and other construction accounting methodologies needed to ensure accurate and relevant information.
    • Administer all monthly and quarterly payroll and excise and tax reports/payments, new and renewal licenses, insurance contract payments, ensure timely preparation of delivery of required bonding and banking reports.  If applicable, assist various State and Federal agencies with revenue and employment tax audits. 
    • Assists upper management with annual renewal of Commercial Liability Insurance and Medical Benefits. 
    • Ensure timely completion of all monthly and year-end closing procedures, reconcile all accounts through balance sheet, adjust journal entries, reconcile job cost and billings to WIP schedule, finalize balance sheet, income statement and WIP, in a timely manner.
    • Provide Job Costing training to administrative staff, and project managers, in order to maintain up to date contracts, change orders and budgets.
    • Responsible for administrative payroll, updates for payroll accruals, oversee field payroll processing.
    • Coordinate with third party property management firm, recording investment activity.
    • Administer current Builders Risk program.


    • Four-year degree in Accounting, CPA beneficial.
    • Ideal candidate has construction experience working with both large and small projects
    • Strong hands-on accounting skills a must; audit background helpful
    • Ability to support/teach others regarding operations/financial issues.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office.
    • Working knowledge of Foundation Software a plus, software implementation experience desirable
