Job Progress Billing in Vista

    Good morning,

Does anyone know how to roll over the previous month's AIA requisitions in Vista that will include actual amounts billed not % complete of actual costs to current projected costs.  We have over 300 requisitions to create each month and have been doing so manually.  I have to believe that this software has a way to roll the requisitions over from the previous month.

Thanks for your help on this.  Getting started with monthly requisitions and would love to expedite this process moving forward.

Have you set your Options to "Item Unit Entry" in JB Progress Billing so you can enter units rather than % complete? Also, since a typical AIA does not show quantities we customized the JB Progress Invoice By Bill Group to print landscape and show units billed as well as dollars.

    Hi Lorrie -

Just to clarify, are you saying Bill Number #1 amounts are NOT rolling to Bill Number #2 (as an example) as previous billed?

What are your selections in JB Company Parameters? Do you have 'Allow Changes to Previous and Contract amounts unchecked and Automatic update of PrevBilled and Chg Order amounts on future bills checked?

This is an excellent conversation.  Wondering if this data is available through any of HQ surveys or benchmark data?

Thank you for all of your help and suggestions.  The problem I had was with my test data base not being updated in real time and not the VP software application.  The JB Bill Initialization function does in fact pull the previous amounts billed into the current month's progress bill (AIA).  You still have to enter some information manually:

    Previous Cert for Payment

    Previous Retainage

    Amount Paid to date

This function does expedite the requisition process tremendously.  I almost feel silly that I did not know about this capability before.  As a relatively new user to Vista, I had relied upon what I was told the system could or could not do.  I am always trying to find new ways to improve the workflow process utilizing our software and thank everyone who jumped in to assist, including Viewpoint customer support who promptly contacted me today.

I believe you will find the you won't need to enter the Previous Cert for Payment, Previous Retainage, and Amount Paid to Date manually once you have rolled the previous billing to the current month.  They will pre-fill along with the information on the schedule of values.
