    Hands on Controller for fast paced growing contractor. Member of SLM responsible for accounting & finance functions including financial statement presentation and capital expenditures, and facility and shop operations. Prior construction and/or job cost accounting experience a plus. Great opportunity for someone that is looking to get involved in all aspects of business operations.  

    Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities:

    • -Fleet management
    • -Construction accounting management
    • -Track construction costs in job cost system and provide cost to complete reports to construction team and Senior Management
    • -Ad hoc reporting for Project Management Team
    • -Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the development properties
    • -Manage month end bank reconciliations and make bank deposits as required
    • -Process accounts receivable and review accounts payable for each respective project
    • -Manage general ledger journal entries and cash balances
    • -Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
    • -Work with internal and external parties to ensure the accuracy of the data gathered and the accuracy of the output from that data
    • -Ad hoc responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
    • -Prepare closeout documents.
    • -Communicate effectively and professionally with all interested parties.
    • -Other responsibilities as assigned by the President.
    • Risk Management
    • Manage payroll and payroll tax filings & payments
    • Manage filing and payment of sales, use and fuel taxes
    • Capital expenditures – ROI and financing

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Forecasting & Budget analysis
    • 10+ years of accounting experience
    • CPA license a plus
    • Experience in audit and accounting; including preparation of reviewed and compiled financial statements
    • Construction accounting experience a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Bachelors in Accounting/Finance
    • CMA Certification a plus
    • Cash Management
