The Career Services committee assists both CFMA members and member companies connect for new employment opportunities. This committee is a repository for member resumes that can be shared with firms that are seeking qualified candidates for job openings.

Quarterly, the VoS Community Services Committee organizes events that benefit those in need in our local community. Participants include members, co-workers, friends, and family who donate time and money in serving our community.
Meetings are held on an as needed basis, usually quarterly.
Construction Executive of the Year

The VoS AZ Construction Executive of the Year Award & Banquet Committee is responsible for the planning of our Chapter's premier event. This annual event is held to recognize four individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to their organization, the community, and our industry. Awards are presented for the Executive of the Year, the Pioneer Award, and the VoS Best Under the Sun Awards for a Chapter General and Associate Member. To honor our award winners and promote CFMA to industry leaders, the Award ceremony is held in a banquet atmosphere with excellent dining and entertainment.
Meeting are held monthly from August until May (May is usually the month of the event).
Ten years ago the VoS Education Committee was formed to further the educational opportunities of our Chapter members. Their mission has been fulfilled by presenting seminars and conferences with topics relevant to Construction Financial Managers and Associate Partners. This group is also responsible for organizing the annual CCIFP Overview class.

Proud to be one of the first CFMA Chapter Golf Tournament, this committee is responsible for planning and hosting this annual event - 2017 will be the 26th. This event has raised over $500,000.00 to further educational and scholarship opportunities for our members and their families, as well as those interested in the Construction Industry. Notable scholarships include the endowments to ASU for $80,000.00 (in honor of Joe Quigley) and NAU for $40,000.00. The funds raised from the annual tournament has also been used to support the CCIFP designation, through financial aid to those attending the Overview Class and those that have taken and passed the Exam.
Meetings are generally once a month via conference call after May, and leading up to the event in the Fall.
The Valley of the Sun Chapter's Legislative Committee monitors potential governmental issues or pending litigation that could affect the construction industry. In the event of proposed legislation that directly affects our profession, such as Transaction Privilege Tax changes, we have partnered with the Arizona Builders Alliance to bring about change and communicate with our members.
Meetings are held during the State's legislative session from December through May, usually monthly.
To welcome and engage new and existing members, encouraging personal and professional growth through participation in educational, charitable, social activities and committees.
Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from noon to 1:00, alternating monthly between in-person meetings and conference calls. Time commitment outside of the monthly meetings is typically less 2-4 hours a month for committee members.
The Valley of the Sun Program Committee is responsible for the content of our Chapter's monthly lunch meetings. The committee's objective is to provide timely and relevant information to our members, by utilizing experienced speakers on topics that are of interest and related to the construction industry.
Meetings are held every other month for 1.5 hours.
On a bi-annual time table, the Salary Survey Committee gathers compensation and benefit information from our members as well as many other local construction industry association members. This information is compiled and then released to all participating companies. The report is sold to those that did not participate at $100 each.
The VoS Scholarship Committee is responsible for reviewing outside applications for funds raised by our annual Golf Tournament. Twice annually, scholarships are awarded to deserving students in the Accounting or Construction Management fields. In addition, this committee also reviews other requests from endowments or donations to Arizona higher education institutions.
Meetings are held twice annually, usually via teleconference.
Valley of the Sun's Social Committee arranges for social networking events on a quarterly basis. These events are varied and can be held at different sites throughout the Valley in order to make at least one event per year convenient for all members. Events are also planned to coordinate CFMA Conferences that are held locally or in the southwest region.

Membership in the Succession Planning Committee is by appointment only and is comprised of several VOS Past Presidents and the incoming VOS President. Its purpose is to identify active members and recommend them for officer, board, and committee chair positions for each new fiscal year. There is typically an annual meeting each January, followed by phone calls and emails culminating in the Annual Meeting of membership at our February luncheon meeting to vote on the new officers and board members taking effect April 1st.
Young Construction Financial Professionals (YCFP)
This relatively new Committee was founded as a result of an initiative started by CFMA's National Membership Committee. The idea has been met with enthusiasm in our Chapter and though CFMA HQ has abandoned the idea, the Valley of the Sun has embraced it and this committee is one of our most active. Limited in membership to those 40 years and younger, it provides an excellent forum for this group of CFMA members to network and problem solve.
Meetings are Quarterly and include a speaker, many times another CFMA VoS member.
