For our August 17th Education Meeting we will have Erin Moore and Robert Sinclair from the Washington Department of Revenue present us with the Ins and Outs of Washington Sales/Use and B&O tax.
Erin Moore is a Senior Revenue Auditor at the Vancouver office of Washington State Department of Revenue and has been with the Department for over 11 years. She is a graduate of Western Washington University. In her tenure with the Department, Erin has travelled widely and audited some of the largest publically-held companies in the United States. She has developed and presented training state-wide for the Department on new tax laws, and has also presented on tax topics to a variety of other audiences including municipalities and private accounting departments. For 2010, she was selected by her manager as the staff Auditor of the Year. Erin is admired and respected by her co-workers for her technical aptitude, breadth of experience, and clear communication style.
Robert Sinclair, CFE, has been a revenue auditor at the Vancouver office of the Washington State Department of Revenue for nearly six years. He is a graduate of Portland State University, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. He was the winner of the 2015 Walker Award (for the highest 2015 CFE exam score) from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. For 2015, he was also selected by his manager as the staff Auditor of the Year. Before working at the Department of Revenue, Robert worked in the public works department of a small municipality and as a wildland firefighter. Robert enjoys discussing and explaining tax topics with a variety of audiences, and feels he “has a knack for distilling complex Washington tax topics into rules of thumb.”
