A pilot program was recently announced by the U.S. Department of Labor's Phoenix District Office seeking to give employers an opportunity to avoid monetary penalties for misclassifying employees as independent contractors. he program is called EMCAP and would allow Arizona companies to voluntarily complete a self-audit of their wage and hour practices as part of that process.
