Most commercial auto/vehicle insurance policies come with a no deductible windhshield or glass replacement coverage. My question is this:Is there a standard that the insurance industry is looking for as it pertains to the number of windshield claims in a policy year?
Such as 10% of the fleet ? 20% ? 30%? what percent is seen as excessive in the carriers eyes ?
In talking to my broker about this, his suggestion was not to turn in glass claims as the insurance company looks at these small claims and wonders when the big claim is coming. This was also confirmed by my personal agent. I am only speaking about Minnesota, as the insurance industry is ranking their insured based on number of claims.
I am sure there are brokers out there who can articulate this better then I.
