1.  Tracking Salary Time Off

Posted 15 days ago

I am looking to implement a software or something to better track salary and hourly time off requests, pto/vac balances, etc. Any suggestions?

Currently, salary folks do not get deducted for PTO or vacation unless they turn in a form which leaves it to the "honest system".

Hi Stacy,

What are you using right now to submit time?  Our time entry system includes entering paid time off and that allows it to be tracked.

We use ComputerEase which tracks PTO and vacation but no well. The program isn't robust and doesn't allow for electronic time off requests. You aren't able to setup rules where an employee gets 5 days each year of vacation and then they automatically jump to 10 days when they hit the next level of employment longevity.

Depending on your software you may be able to create pay ID's with a formula to accrue units each week and another pay id for when they are taken/used.  then create a formula for reporting. Pay ID1 YTD units less Pay ID2 YTD units = YTD unit balance. Sage 300 handles this well.

We use ADP Workforce Now. All employees (hourly and salary) must submit their PTO requests online through the system. Requests are automatically forwarded to their supervisor for approval and then deducted from their available balance as used.
