Sage Contractor 100 Equipment Module / Other Form of Job Costing

We currently use Sage Contractor 100 and do not have the Equipment Module as part of our package.  We do not own/rent out large equipment.  We do however have a customer asking us to charge for small equipment such as ladders, barricades, traffic cones, bollards, etc that they want itemized with a lower markup rate.  We are trying to develop a daily, weekly and monthly rental rate for this request.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Oh, that sounds like a lot of work for little gain, so you need to automate this as much as possible.

If you are invoicing thru 3-10 T&M, you would need to add the equipment module from Sage to be able to set those up.

If you are invoicing from 11-2 you could use parts instead of the equipment module.

A lot depends on how you are gathering data, and your billing process.

Feel free to email me (alee@rtgcontractors.com) and we can schedule a time to talk.

    Hi, Kimberley.

Being in construction, some of your employees may have a good relationship with a local equipment rental company to whom you could provide a list of the equipment and ask them what they rent those types of items for.  Another source that we've considered, for a subscription fee of course, would be EquipmentWatch, which provides access to retail rental rates for construction and related equipment.  I haven't looked too deeply into their service, however.
