  • 1.  Migrating to the Cloud

    Reaching out to anyone that could tell me about their experience of migrating to "The Cloud" with their current accounting/job cost/etc software and more specifically to Viewpoint's Construction Software.  As many are already aware, Maxwell Systems (we are running StreetSmarts) was purchased by Viewpoint last year, and we are approaching the start of implementation on Vista.  Recently, we were pitched the cloud version of the software as well as the SaaS applications from Microsoft and other companies, and it was intriguing.  Just trying to get some feedback out there from someone that is using it everyday and advantages/disadvantages (including remote/field access) in comparison to hosting on a complete in-house server(s) IT infrastructure.  Also, any info on the interface of Vista / Outlook within the SaaS to your local exchange server would be a +++!
