    Hello all,

Would anyone be able to provide topics for safety tailgate meetings along with suggestions on how to efficiently get field employees to submit safety packets in on time?  We'd like to know what works for your small to mid-size company; mobile application, emails, physically submitting paperwork in to the office.  Thank you in advance!

    Barbara,

We provide tablets for all our foremen and use a cloud based service called SiteDocs for all our safety documents.  For toolbox topics, the foremen access the topics on their tablets and read through them with their crew.  Then all crew members sign on the tablet that they've heard, understood, and agree to abide by the information provided.   The document is then saved in the cloud where our Safety Director can access it.  We also use it for incident & near miss reporting, daily hazard analysis reports, daily equipment inspections, etc.

Our foremen like it because they don't have to fill out and turn in any paperwork.  We love it because everything is available in real time, so we know immediately if someone isn't doing their reports and we have the ability to run reports at any time.

We are a small electrical contractor and use Safety Meeting App for the field foremen.  It is a NECA-sponsored app with discounted pricing.  However, it isn't just for electrical contractors.  There are dozens of general tool talks and others specific to MEP.  It is a breeze to use, and the foremen just upload meeting to cloud and our project coordinator sends to the GC.  We have trained our foremen to hold talks every Monday morning.  If they don't, we call them out on it.  I believe it's less than $200/year for 5 users.  It has made toolbox talks a lot easier to manage with no paperwork.
