    We do residential home building & remodeling, and often need engineers to review the plans drawn up by our team or provide calcs for a project.

    What is reasonable for us to request in terms of insurance, a hold harmless agreement, etc. from our engineer vendors?

    With subcontractors we ask to be "additional insured" and have them sign a working agreement before participating in our projects.

    ​As a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NHAB) I can't recommend enough their resources for this. If you are a member of a local the HBA of Metro Portland looks like the closest. The Oregon Home Builders Association also looks close to you. Links below:
