    Joe,

Viewpoint Vista should be on your list.

In my opinion, the list is much smaller for most of your revenue range for self-perform contractors.

    Joseph,

I would ask you to consider adding RedTeam to this list. RedTeam is used mostly by contractors under $100m in annual revenue and offers strong construction financials within the software itself (all the way to a live WIP report). RedTeam is also a partner with intuit and integrates seamlessly with QBO which offers an incredible value when you consider the cost of most platforms out there today.
Within RedTeam you can manage your project and interact with all the project constituents without requiring them to buy anything or even login, we leverage a collaborative console which eliminates the need for emails. RedTeam is built around contracts and was born out of need for a general contractor who built it for its own use initially. The integration to QBO is very robust and we have clients as large as $300M successfully using RT/QBO.

    Thank you,

    Frederic,

Does Redteam offer a module to expand QBO payroll? Or is there another provider that offers this? QBO's payroll offering is very limited and I wouldn't recommend for any contractor self-performing work over $1MM annually. A couple of the key limitations that I've experienced are worker's comp tracking doesn't allow changes to worker's comp codes at the task level and prevailing wages are very difficult to manage. I'd love to hear about any solutions you could recommend.

    Thanks,

I agree that that there important considerations to consider when looking at payroll.
RedTeam gives users the ability to enter capture there time and manage the time by job, change order, cost code as well as WC rate.
RedTeam Timesheets (browser and smartphone app) enables employees to 1) specify a workers compensation code for individual tasks, 2) segregate hours subject to prevailing wage. and 3) produce a payroll export file compatible with all major payroll service providers.
    I hope this helps!

Spectrum was purchased by Vista a year and half ago. The entire Vista operation was purchased recently. I would use caution until we see if they continue to upgrade and maintain all of the different programs.

    Mr. Harper,

It is clear CFMA members have provided you an abundance of options to consider.  To answer your original question, there are several blog articles available that may help you with your decision found at https://www.corecon.com/blog

Have you considered Corecon Technologies product 'Corecon V8' and their integration with QuickBooks Pro, Premier, Enterprise, QuickBooks online, SAP Business 1, Xero, and Sage 50 Canada? You will find that the price of Corecon's offering is far more palatable than the Products you  listed and requires no additional plugins or apps that most of the products you mentioned require?  Estimating, Lead Opportunity Tracking, Scheduling, QC, PM, Contract Management, Procurement, HR, Equipment Management, Safety, Corecon Mobile and TeamLink Portal are all part of the Flagship product.  There 'all-in-one' pricing means there are no additional Modules, plugins or apps to buy.

Corecon allows you to use these integrated accounting software packages to manage your General Ledger, AJE's, AP, AR, Banking, Credit Card, G&A Expenses, Balance Sheet, and Income Statement.  This provides Finance, Project Management, Production, Contract Admin, Procurement, Estimating, Engineering, HR, Field Personnel, QC & Safety team members the means of managing their processes and data on a User Interface designed specifically for their role. Corecon was designed for all of these user roles and continues to provide the Finance team the internal controls, integrated data, analytics, dashboards and executive level reporting they need.  In addition, Corecon has developed a highly evolved Internal Control, Document and Workflow Approval Process that users can easily custom design and manage.  Corecon tracks and manages Prevailing Wage and Union Labor. It is also easier to find finance and accounting candidates that already know the accounting packages that Corecon Integrates with. Your Public Accountants, Auditors, Bonding Underwriters usually know these accounting packages and will not have to maintain additional staff that can navigate the far more expensive software you listed.

I have implemented and trained users on Sage 300 CRE, Sage 100 Contractor, and Corecon for many years.  I also served as a Controller or CFO in Construction for many years before that.  From these perspectives, I can offer insights on these products and your decision-making process.  If you want to discuss any of these options further, please reach out to me.

    Thank you,

All the software vendors, resellers and consultants are proud of their respective software.   Everyone wants fair consideration, however there was recently a thread on self promotion by associate members.   We are all passionate about the technology we are affiliated with.

Wouldn't it be more useful to have your CFMA customers speak for you?   That way Mr. Harper and the rest of the membership hear from people actually using their respective software.

If I have something to share that may be considered self promoting, I reply privately to the person asking the question via the CFMA forum (versus emailing them directly).  In this way they have the information I believe could be useful without self promotion.  If I am aware of a member who has relevant experience, I encourage THEM to reply and share their own experience.

This is just my personal perspective.  I believe the forum is meant primarily for member to member sharing.

    James:
Thank you for your perspective on associates promoting their products and services here on the Connection Cafe.
Let me be brief.  We agree 100% on your perspective and encourage other vendors to think the same way.
This is intended as a forum for members to speak to members and it has become one of our most valued services we offer our members.
While the number of posts varies from day to day, as I travel the country, I always hear that thousands of our members read the Cafe on a daily basis.  I often tell our vendors that less is more with CFMA members.  They don't like feeling like vendors are marketing to them through CFMA.
As James has said, if you want to get a point across, it is viewed more favorably if the comments come from other members who use the product or service.
    Thanks,
