For the companies who are currently using and previously used Comdata....what are your thoughts?  We are considering using them for AP Automation (Virtual Credit Card), Fuel Card and Credit Cards and would like to hear what other companies in the industry have to say about them.  Thank you in advance.

    Barbara,

We have hundreds of clients using Comdata. They have the best integration and systems.  They are a one stop shop for all types of credit card transactions - Virtual, fuel, plastic.  You cant go wrong.  They also service more contractors than any other option because they built a construction practice 10+ years ago and really understand your needs . Hope this helps

We have used Comdata for virtual card payments as well as purchase cards (the plastic ones for project managers etc) for several years. We use Spectrum for an accounting system.

I would say the virtual card integration has been great - seamless - and we have earned significant amounts of rebate by paying vendors this way. This is a credit to Spectrum and Dexter & Chaney (now Viewpoint) as well.

The purchase cards are okay - they have an app that cardholders use to submit receipts - that's handy - my issue is the web interface that the accounting dept uses to do the reconciliation and import of transactions is not very good. Comdata redid it a year or so ago, but it needs some significant work.

The relationship managers we have had with Comdata have always been very helpful and attentive. That is necessary because otherwise, it is impossible to wind your way through Comdata's numerous silos to find help or an answer.

Feel free to contact me with any other specific questions.

We have used ComData a number of years and have been pleased with the Virtual Card to pay vendors as well as the purchase cards that allows a lot of control for purchases thru their on line portal.  Using the MCC codes to authorize or not certain purchases by using purchasing profiles.  Also, the use of a one-time override that will authorize anything needed to be purchased.

We are about to start using their Expense Track product.  The new version looks good, but we will have to see once it is in operation.

I also agree with Adam about having a good Support rep to help get things done within ComData.

We use Computer Guidance's ERP have an automated interface for the virtual card process, which I believe is very important to have a smooth virtual card process.

Would be glad to discuss further, if you want.

We use Comdata for both the virtual and plastic cards and have been very pleased with the service and the rebates. We are also on Spectrum and the integration works great on the virtual cards. We just recently switched to Expense Track and it has taken a little time on the import feature but we have finally worked through all the bugs and it is working much better now.
I agree with the others about having a dedicated account manager. That is key to getting the proper help in a timely manner. In the seven years that we have been with them we have had several different account managers but they have all been very responsive and helpful.

I would be interested to know the interface capabilities. My understand as a CMIC cloud user is that Comdata will not interface. Is there an advantage to using this service if duplicate keyed-entry is required?
