We have the 1st of the month after 90 days until our next renewal under Obamacare.  California law is saying it has to be 60 days.  My broker said it would be the day after 60 days not the first of the month.  So be safe and check the ruling when your next renewal comes up.

Per ACA, waiting periods can not exceed 90 days effective 1/1/14.  We had first of month following 90 days, and are reducing to first of the month following 60 to meet the requirement.

We start new employees on our health plan the first day of the month following their start date - no 30/60/90 day wait; we'd rather have them covered.

First day of the next month following 60 days of employment.
We were formerly at the first day of the next month following 90 days of employment, but had to change it to comply with the ACA regulation that mandates a maximum of 90 days as a waiting period. This basically corresponds to our "Probationary" period for new hires. We pay 100% of the employee's premium so this way we're not setting them up and paying for their insurance if they don't end up working out.

1st of Month following hire.  We recently changed this from 1st of month following 90 days due to Obamacare and paperwork burden after date of hire.
